Bigfoot: Facts and Opinions (with video!)

In order to explore the topics of "fact" and "opinion" we've taken a very high interest topic--Bigfoot--and begun to discuss the ideas and theories about it. Learning to sort facts from opinions will help them become critical thinkers and processors of information. Since the Bigfoot mystery can neither be confirmed NOR disproven, it is a perfect platform for students to form their own opinions based on evidence and inference. We watched the famous "Patterson Film" of an alleged Bigfoot in California. On that same site there are many other videos and interviews that students may find of interest.

NOTE: While none of the alleged videos are what I consider "scary," they might not be appropriate for really young children!
